BIIAB Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (Scotland) at SCQF Level 6
This qualification is aimed at anyone wanting to work as a door supervisor in the UK.
Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, all door supervisors must hold a licence to practise issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
The BIIAB Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (Scotland) at SCQF Level 6 is a nationally recognised qualification and is endorsed by the SIA.
Successful completion of this qualification enables a door supervisor to meet one of the requirements to apply for their licence.
The qualification comprises 4 mandatory units:
Unit 1 - Working within the Private Security Industry
Unit 2 - Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
Unit 3 - Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
Unit 4 - Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
What Will I Learn On This Course?
· Understand physical interventions and the legal and professional implications of their use
· Understand how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used
· Be able to use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
· Be able to use non-pain related standing holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills
· Understanding good practice to follow after physical interventions

Important Information:
· The Course starts at 9am please arrive no later than 8.45am to the visitor reception of Tennent’s Wellpark Brewery.
· There is no parking onsite, please arrive in time to find suitable parking nearby, we offer all day parking at the Duke Street PBT Carpark for a subsidised price which is 5 minute walk away.
· Soup, Sandwiches, Snacks and Soft Drinks are available to purchase on the day. Lunch Meal Deal is available to all candidates at the subsidised price of £3.50
· There are ID requirements for this course to be able to sit the exam. Please ask a member of staff for more details when booking this course
